changes...........

in my ife there is ups n down which i enjoy a lot which makes me a better person. but there are things in life where i wish i can correct it and wish it can be corrected. it took me time to forget my pass and what i did and how many people i hurrt and wish how i didn't do all of that mistake in life. but i realise its normal to do mistakes in life, it teaches u a lesson that you will not forget something to remember.by making mistakes it helped me to change myself by wondering what i can do now to make everybody around me to look at me differently.by being the responsible person i am now and carrying and wearing a mask showing the good side of me and trying to cover the pass i had makes me stronger everday to be somebody. sometime i wish i had a life i had at my pass instead of the life now.but it made me realise the life i have now is the reality that shows how we should live life. enjoying lifewith the hard way sometimes is the best way of happiness because you work hard for it and the simple things in life makes u really happy and realising that is the biggest changes in life..that ll show u.. who u really are inside n not outside... i can say i have change but have i. i dont really know..but the changes in my life now might not be the best thing for me but i know it will in my future..................Kt

I AM A MALAYSIAN, BUT ARE YOU.. What i think

In a country where race, religion and our differences not just creating boundaries between ethnic communities but also within racial group, makes you wonder who you really are? People might say’ I am a Malaysian” being proud of it even though they don’t look like one and they should not be look down by other people, just because they look strange. This happens to a lot of Malaysians with mix marriages and peer regional places which are influence by different racial and culture. But still, all Malaysian should be treated equally fair, for we share the same vision to be united with Malays, Chinese, Indians and others. We might look different, for the Malays might look like Chinese, and Indians look like Malays but this does not change a thing. It all depends on the individual itself to carry oneself and showing other people your true origins and culture in the public within yourself. Besides that, we should know we are a multi racial country and there are many faces of Malaysian. Lastly we all should just be recognized as Malaysians’ and not for what we look like outside. So be proud of what you are and do not let these boundaries to question you and ask what I am…

What is an Adjunct? In my understanding

What is the definition of an Adjunct? The word derives from the Latin word 'adiƫnctus' meaning 'to join to'. The definition of Adjunct is an element in a sentence that, whilst not essential to the structure of the sentence, amplifies its meaning. An adjunct establishes the circumstances in which the actions expressed by the verb take place.
Examples: Yesterday, tomorrow, after
Adjuncts are used to refer to particular peripheral roles and how these peripheral roles can also be realized in other ways. In the process we'll discover some interesting ways in which languages can differ from one another. One kind of difference involves a distinction that is made in one language but not in another. In other words, two different sentences in one language correspond to one ambiguous sentence in the other language. Another kind of difference involves alternate ways of conveying the same information. One language may express in adjuncts what another language expresses within the verb itself. An adjunct is used in a sentence that may have certain parts of a sentence that convey information about how, when, or where something happened
He ate his meal quickly (how) David gave blood last week (when) Susan went to school in New York (where

CRITICAL ESSAY

Sociolinguistic is one of the major concern that exist in the language and society which is also the connections between the language and the society and the way we use it in different social situation. From the articles we have found and studied, we have understood better on the origins of the language. We also explored a lot in the different types of languages used and the article business language which we found caught our interest the most.
In this article we can see from the picture clearly that a business deal is being done. It also shows us, how two different people who do not share the same common language try to come to an understanding to make business. Thus we can also see that they have reached an agreement with each other. In this picture also we can predict that they had to face a rough time trying to understand and communicate. There are a lot of optical illusion that can be answered and question back from this picture.
Besides that, this article shows us that we still used the pidgin which was used in the 19th century where it was used to communicate with the mix people, for shipping and trading routes. This two people had made their way to understanding by using one of the first dominant languages in the world. With the existence of pidgins, business dealing has become much easier in the world these days. It has help human realized that things can be done in other different alternate ways.
On the other hand, there are many small differences that are not taken count. Such as the personal appearance of the people with their dressing code and the culture differences which are obvious with the cup of coffee and the Chinese tea glass. The picture also shows us the two different trade marks that show us the development of the country. In the picture we can also see overall the differences of culture, regions and ethics of a person which pictures the people today.
Lastly the scope of a language can be as wide as possible. But it can be one of the easiest ways to learn and adopt it. It basically just depends on the individual in acquiring it in their own ways to benefit it.

What role does social factors like gender, age, class and ethnicity play in language use.

What role does social factors like gender, age, class and ethnicity play in language use.

There are many factors that can influence the language that a person uses in today’s society. There are many factors such as age, gender, class, ethnic and many more which are very important to develop the language being used. These factors are important for it plays the role to classify the group of a speaker through the language.

Gender is one of the factors which play an important part in language. Gender is divided in to two categories, male and female. A female and male tend to talk differently in many ways, which differentiates them from each other. The female tend to speak very softly and polite for they don’t have a deep and husky voice when they speak. For the male, they tend to talk very loud with a high pitch of voice. Due to the differences of gender the tone of speaking of a person is affected.

Thus age is one of the other factors which influence the language as well. The age is one of the main matters for there are many groups of people. There are the young ones, adult, teenagers, and many more. The teenagers tend to speak with a different slang to look cold. While the, older people tend to speak in an advising way. While the young children have their own way of speech, where they have just learn how to speak and have different ways to communicate.

Besides that, the classes are also on one of the factors, where they are divided in to high class, middle class and low class or categories as educated and non-educated. A high class person might talk very good English with proper grammar such as business man, lawyers, doctors and many more. The middle class people talk differently where they mix the language with other languages. The low class people language might be mix with the village style of speaking.

Lastly is the Ethnicity, which is an ethic group of character, background, or affiliation of a person. The classification of a population that shares a common characteristic, such as, religion, traditions, culture, language, and tribal or national origin. This influences the language because there are many different ethnic in Malaysia such as the Malay, Chinese, Indians and others. The ethnic is influence by the multi culture of this country. This is the reason why some individual might have different way of talking due to the mix tradition, culture and religion which affects the language we speak.

These roles is very important as it plays a important part in language and how a it affect the sociolinguistic way of speaking a language.

What is bilingualism?

Bilingualism is the ability to communicate in two different languages, using two languages in some proportion, in order to facilitate learning by student who have a native proficiency in one language and are acquiring proficiency in others. There are many definitions of bilingualism, for example, a person does not have to speak both languages with equal fluency to be a bilingual. It is very common for bilinguals. Some people have been bilingual since birth, due to their parents. I define bilingualism simply as using two languages depending on the fluency of second language.
Fluency in a second language requires skills in listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. Some bilinguals are people who were thought by parents who can each speak a different language at home and by friends who spoke different language in school. In some countries like Malaysia, especially those with two or more official languages due to the multi racial, schools encourage bilingualism by requiring intensive study of a second language.
In Malaysia, we can learn many languages due to mix marriage, friends, schools and many more. This happen to a lot of students and it is an easy way to learn when you come from a different background. Having the ability to be bilingualism or multilingualism is a great advantage because this will allow you to suit any environment at any time. Thus, you will have the benefits of job for your ability of speaking skills. I personally feel, learning a language is fun and the easiest way for it helps you a lot in future.

Traditional teaching vs. Modern teaching methods

Traditional teaching vs. Modern teaching methods

Our society these days are divided in to two different way of thinking on the education. Some believe that modern methods are better than the traditional method of teaching but yet these two methods are both a successful way. In my opinion, every method in teaching is the same for they deliver the same message to the students. Therefore there are pros and cons to it as well in these ways of teaching.
The pros for traditional methods are that teaches shouldered too much of responsibilities for teaching in the classroom to make sure everything they thought were understood by the student. Thus it was a good method, where there was efficient communication between teacher and students. There was also the typical way and a controllable class where the teacher would teach on the blackboard, explained, asks students to copy and made sure students paid attention and listen. Besides that, the traditional way in disciplining students in school and teaching them was an effective way in building a good characteristic student where students were afraid of their teacher and respect them.
Talking about the pros there are cons to traditional method way where students were to afraid to ask their teacher questions. Thus students get board of the same way of teaching method done by the teacher which is on the blackboard and listening to the teacher talk while they sit down in class and heat up their chairs. Besides that, disciplining the students with canning and scolding is not a sufficient way for students get traumatizes in school.
On the other hand, the pros of modern method in teaching help a lot where there is a centered classroom which is created by the teacher and accepted by the students. In modern method students are aware of their learning process through the computers. Thus with the help of computers teachers prepare their work in their thumb drive and present it to the class through slides show which is an easier way. And students can do their studying and their work all in the computer without depending 100% on their teacher in schools. Besides that, there is also classroom contract which consists on agreement between teachers and student regarding on how each will contribute to and behave in the classroom to start building a student’s expectation towards independence. Therefore students even have a bonding relationship with their teacher to be their friend so that they can share their problems to the teacher without being afraid.
As for the cons of the modern method of teaching students become too independent where they think they don’t need guidance from anybody because they think they can accomplish anything by themselves. Thus with the use of computers in school children gets distracted with online games and websites to browse on besides their studies which will cause them distraction. . Besides that saving all data’s in the thumb drive can be a problem when there is a virus which can also cause the students and teacher to get to comfortable and depend too much on technology and forget other better tools in teaching. Thus students also begin to be too comfortable with their teacher as their friend in schools and forget their responsibilities and respect over the teacher.
Lastly, I feel that the teaching methods should be balance because it both brings good intentions in educating a person for the better future of everyone. Thus it sends out the same message even in different way but yet it is useful.

Disciplinary Issues – Canning in School

The disciplinary issues in Malaysia are increasing in a large number day by day. Why is this happening?? It is sad to say that this problem is becoming worst because of the education system imposing such terrible disciplinary act towards the students, such as canning and slapping. It should be allowed but not excessively.
In my opinion, I personally agree with the saying “Spare the Rod and Spoil the Child” which the Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi himself would seem to agree with. Prime minister himself expanded the power of canning students to all teachers; only the disciplinary masters and principals are allowed to do so. According to Datuk Seri Abdullah, care must be taken to avoid abuse, he also sad that, he would not stop the ministry from implementing canning in schools as long as it is not excessive. The National Unity Community Development minister Siti Zaharah Sulaiman said that yesterday those children should be canned in serious cases. In addition to that, the Ministry had in ruled that only principals and discipline masters could use the rod. All those citation and references above was taken from the net.
Why canning is carried out widely in schools for the smallest mistake is because, students are disrespectful to their teachers and headmasters. Youngsters nowadays are getting disrespectful; I blame the parents for that kind of act. But teachers in school should not just cane to correct them, instead they will only become wilder and uncontrollable after such punishment is impost towards them. This just goes to show that respect is a virtue taught at home not instilled by cane. Teachers nowadays cane student because they know students fear canning in school. The effect of that punishment, is when this student grows up, they beat other schoolmates because they tend to think their school mates are scat to be beaten, and this lead to gangsterism. This is a vicious cycle taught by our education program.
Public canning in schools should be carried out in a way which follows the procedures strictly, for an example there should be strict guidelines in regards to all type of offences, such as disrespect shown to teachers and headmasters, destruction of the school property, public fighting. Teachers should not be given the license for canning the students for the smallest excuse.
I would like to conclude by asking a question generally, are we so deprived of our own self-esteem, that we in turn think that other s can only be made understand things through the medium of the cane??? A teacher cannot impose any punishment on any student; it would become an offence for which the teacher would be punishable as an ordinary criminal act. As said above, canning should be allowed, but not excessively towards student.

IMPORTANT ELEMENTS IN A SPEECH

HOW I FEEL YOU CAN IMPROVE YOUR SPEECH WITH THE IMPORTANT ELEMENTS?

In a speech there are several important elements and skills that one should have to apply in conversation. Such as the slang, amptitude, articulation, consonants, vowels, stresses, juncture and gradiation in a speech. These elements are very important to make you a successful speaker.

The slang is one of the way how a person talks in a regions way which shows where you come from. When you speak, you should use the proper slang to talk English. Which is the British way of talking English and not the Malay, Chinese and Indian slang way cause this might spoil the flow of the speech.

The amptitude is also very important cause it controls the amount of air which escapes through the vocal chord producing loudness and softness of voice when one speaks. It controls the pitching when you deliver a speech on where you need to raise your voice.Besides that, the articulation is the place in the vocal tract where the air stream is obstructed. There are two parts in articulation which is our nasal tract and oral tract. Articulation is also the position of the speech organs when you speak.

Consonants are produced by obstruction of the flow through the vocal tract which the place can be identified. Where it can be used to form speech sounds. Consonants are voiceless and it has the place and manner articulation. Vowels are oral sounds and it’s voiced. Vowels are determined largely by tongue position and are characterized by a free flow of air through the oral cavity.

Stress is also important in your speech. Stress happens when air I pushed out from your lungs in one syllable relative to one another. It helps us in the speech by giving us a special emphasis on to a word to show whether it is a noun or verb. There are 3 degree stress primary, secondary and weak. Stressed syllable tend to have a higher pitch and longer duration to show what is important in a spech.
Gradiation is how in a change of vowels quality and refers to the existence in English of two or more pronunciation. When stress is reduced to weak stress. It is used in daily speech and it is generally shorter and less loud. It is important in speech when you stress it in a strong and weak way and how the message is delivered.

Lastly is the juncture, which shows you where to pause in a sentence. Juncture is a super segmental feature which indicates the contrast in the transition between two con sequent syllabes

EDUCATIONAL ISSUE, CANCER CHILDREN FACE

Cancer is the main problem this day which increase the risk of educational issue. Cancer is one of the most dangerous diseases which kill many people gradually from the inside. The only way to control or prevent spread of this disease is treatment by going through therapy, but sometime therapy can affect the memory and the learning abilities of the child. This is the reason why child cancer patients under going treatment for cancer face several predicaments in their educational. But this can be change by treatment and a little more awareness.

Treatment for cancer during childhood or adolescence may affect educational progress due to prolonged absences or reduced energy levels that that frequently occur during treatment. Factors that children have to face are the difficulties in school where they have to accept that they are diagnosed to cancer at a very young age. This will cause them to prolonged school absence and a history of learning problems before being diagnosed with cancer. Besides that cancer treatment can also affect hearing, vision, result in physical disabilities and central nervous system f for certain type of cancer.

Children with certain types of cancer such as tumors located in the head and facial area, leukemia and lymphoma are at higher risk of developing educational difficulties. This is because, the brain is a very complex structure that continues to grow and develop and due to radiation it stops the developing of the brain. After therapy is complete, common problems may occur in areas such as the children handwriting, spelling, reading, vocabulary, math, memory, planning and many more. This is proven by doctors after studying all patients.

They are many ways that can be done to help with the learning problems with special accommodations or services can be requested such as minimizing the amount of student in a class, use tape or record text book, use computer and many more other solutions. Beside that, parents and teacher should be aware of potential educational problem so that children can be watched closely and given extra attention. Thus children who have undergo treatment for cancer can join public laws or act that protect the rights of cancer patients such as The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and The Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) which guarantees equal access to public space and opportunities to help cancer student to seek things they need.

I conclude by saying that sickness do weaken a person and give an impact to anybody life style but it does not stop a person from putting in a little effort to make changes to it. Lastly, I restate that cancer student should be given a chance and they should be help and guide them to improve themselves.

what i learn?

WHAT IS LEARNING STRATEGISE?

Learning is a knowledge got by what we have studied.
Strategy is a long-term plan or policy applied.

what i feel about Love

There is love of course.
And then there's life, its enemy.
To love someone is to understand each other, to laugh together, to smile with your heart and to trust one another. One important thing is to let each other go if you can't do this.
Oh! How I miss you so much
Your kiss
Your touch
All of you

Love is born of faith,
Lives on hope,
And dies of charity
Love is strong yet delicate.
It can be broken.
To truly love is to understand this.
To be in love is to respect this.

Love reminds you that nothing else matters.

Falling in love consists merely in uncorking
the imagination and bottling the common-sense.
Love is more than a feeling;
it's a state of mind.

One look
One smile
One touch
One embrace
One kiss
One love
Two people
Two minds
Two souls
Two destinies
One road
One journey
One ending
Together.

Romance is the fuel that keeps love burning hot. But for me it is just a temporarily feeling that disappear after a while it is a waste of time but its is a great feeling that everybody longs for

HAPPY VALENTINE

LOVE

Heart800

love is patient,

love is kind it does not envy,

it does not boast, i

t is not proud or rude or self seeking,

it keeps no record of wrong.

Love does not delight in evil,

Love always protect, trust, hopes n preserve everything,

love bears all thigs... love neva end..

My UNISEL
in unisel i had my goals set this time to not screw up again it was my second chance from my parents and i cant afford to blow it. this time i made time table for myself and i made sure i followed it. i studied and had fun as well. i balance myself with a treat for myself every time i did something. i made new friends as well who was always there 4 me in helping me. i made it through in my studies here with 3 pointer and above which was kind of hard 4 me to believe and learning there was the best place 4 me cause it was far away from KL n it was 2 hours away to KL so it was far away from temptation. but i had to leave there after completing my foundation even though i loved it a lot there cause my parents were shifting back to KL for goood from Sabah. so my parents decided 4 me to b closer to them instead of me studying in batang berjuntai, they decided that i should come to MSU with my sister for it ll be easier. so i said yes, n here i am now in msu. Unisel was a great environment to study and it thought me a lot and it made more matured.

Goal setting

Its not the GOAL you set,
Its WHAT YOU NEED to achieve it.
Its not how high you want to RISE,
Its KNOWING HOW to take off.
Its not what you DREAM of doing,
Its having the KNOWLEDGE to do it.
Its not where you WANT to go,
Its knowing HOW to get there.
Its not WHAT you want in life,
Its knowing HOW to reach it.

Everybody has goal in life, it depends on the individual. i feel you must conciously design your GOALS to direct you to SUCCESS
ADOLSCENCE
Being at the level of adolescence, from my point of view, it’s a stage where everything in your life start ticking. It is a long walk which you have to go through to reach a stage, the stage of adult. It could be the best time you have ever had but at the same time the worse. But there is no turning back. Being at this stage, we do many things we wish we did not do and at the same time things we wish we could have done. Some good things to reflect on and stuff to take as a lesson to benefit us in the future.
Being a teenager, was the best time in my life. Having the freedom and the trust to do what you want, was the best thing anybody can ask for. I got all that from my parents. At the peak of my teenage life when I was 16 years old. I started to go out with my friends and it was hard for my parents to control me. And I remembered my dad saying “you can go and do anything but remember your limits and lastly remember you are my daughter”. That always remind me that I should not mis use the trust my parents have on me.
But having the key, I kind of mis use it, when I was ending my teenage life. When I was 18 years old, when I steped out of my house to go study in KL. I forgot my limits. I was all alone, far away from my parents. I started to enjoy life and become too wild I did not study caused I had a lot of problems, got myself too involved with boy friends and too much with my friends problem and many more. I started all the bad habits which all teenagers would do. I got influence by people. Made a mistake, drop out of college and had to face my parents. I started to regret, wishing I had not done all that.
This is my second chance and I have no wish to blow it again. I am trying my best to focus and concentrate on with my life to be some one.

a lesson

A joke to brighten up yr day! A married couple, in their early 60's, was celebrating their 44thwedding anniversary at a quiet, romantic little restaurant.Suddenly, a tiny beautiful Fairy appeared on their table. She said: 'For being such an exemplary married couple and especially atthis time, I will grant you each a wish.' 'Oh', said the wife, 'I want to travel around the World with my darlinghusband'. The fairy waved her magic wand ; and- poof! - two tickets for the Queen Mary II luxury liner and TenThousandDollars appeared in her hands. Then it was the husband's turn. He thought for a minute and said:'Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this willnever come again. So I'm going with my mind and not my Heart '.' I'm sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger thanme.'The wife and the Fairy were shocked and disappointed. But a wish is awish. So, the Fairy waved her magic wand, and - Poof! - the husband became 92 years old. The Moral of the story: Men who are ungrateful bastards should remember;Fairies are Female.
